The 1967 Ghia Oldsmobile Thor 2+2. It's based on the front wheel drive Toronado and it's unlike any other Oldsmobile. Giugiaro did the designing and it looks a lot like his Ghibli among other Ghias of the day. GM commissioned it I guess for shows to draw attention to the Toronado which is handsome, but is a gelding next to this sexy stallion.
It lived at the De Tomaso museum until 2004 and is now probably hidden in some rich guy's house.

That car would look amazing with the right set of wheels. Steelies just don't cut it.

At first I thought I read 'I lived at the De Tomaso museum'. And I wasn't even surprised. Never knew this one!

Ha! I'd love to have an apartment at the De Tomaso museum. How badass would that be?

Pretty badass and that's why I wasn't surprised. Just very curious if the museum still exists? It was some kind of factory museum but there's not much factory left.

I think it's still open. It looks like it was founded by the De Tomaso Owner's Club, so it's independent from the car company.

I can't find much about the museum online. One of the few links I've found state the museum can only be visited upon arrangement. But the only URL found ( http://www.detomaso.it/ ) leads to an ISP stating they registered the URL. So I'm afraid it's dead as well. Or they just don't want many visitors ;-)
Next summer I'll head up to Italy. As I've done most of the supercar-valley museums except for this one it would be nice to go there if it still exists. But first I'm heading for the DAF museum!

Maybe they sold that car because the museum is gone. That would be too bad.
Post a report on the Daf museum. That place looks great.

A couple of days per month old DAF-personnel is restoring old cars at the museum, I'm trying to find out what days this actually happens as I would really want to see that and talk to the guys. This happened to me on both Brooklands (though these were old Vickers-Armstrong mechanics restoring a Wellington) and the Lamborghini Museum. It's really worth planning your visit taking this in account.
I will post a report just AFTER you finish your DAF-article, otherwise no-one will know what I'm reporting about ;-)

That sounds awesome. I'd love to do a European auto museum tour. If I win the lottery.
I was hoping you'd do some field research for me. ;-)
